Ryokan Plum felt like a magical escape. The cozy atmosphere envelops you as soon as you step into the lobby. I adored the traditional design and the beautiful old building added to the overall charm. The futons were incredibly comfortable, allowing for restful nights. A lovely surprise was the shared kitchen, which felt welcoming and useful. The owner, with a background in fashion, was both personable and attentive, creating a genuine connection. Plus, receiving complimentary hand towels and traditional robes felt special. I appreciated the presence of Gorokichi, the orange tabby cat, who added a delightful touch. However, the room could have used more amenities, like cutlery and plates in case we wanted to enjoy meals in. We did experience some noise from a nearby bar on a Friday night, which might disrupt light sleepers, but it wrapped up promptly by 10 PM. It was an overall fantastic stay, and I loved the personal touches that made it unique.

The cozy communal areas with free coffee made relaxation enjoyable.
The shared bathroom setup was inconvenient and cumbersome. It required planning around when to shower, as I often found it occupied. Plus, the noise from other rooms was quite bothersome at times.

Ryokan Plum is a hidden gem! The homemade muffins were divine, and the local eateries nearby, like Kakudayaseipan for fresh bread and Torikatsuro for grilled chicken, were outstanding finds. Plus, Gorokichi, the friendly tabby cat, added to the cozy vibes. The spacious room exceeded my expectations too!
It isn’t as convenient as expected. it's a 10-minute walk from Odawara station and the restaurants are a bit far. Being in a wooden house means creaky stairs and narrow paths, which could be a hassle with luggage, but honestly, this charm just added to its character.

Perfect for a family getaway
The suite was comfy with three double beds and two bunks for the kids, plenty of space. We loved the local made yukata and the helpful staff who greeted us so warmly.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but still reasonable considering all it offers.

The family room was spacious with comfy beds, and the kids enjoyed the double-decker beds. The shared kitchen facilities made it easy to prepare snacks. However, the icy showers in winter were a drawback, and the shared bathroom required timing to avoid crowds, which was slightly inconvenient. While the roads to the nearby attractions are flat and easy to navigate, the location is a bit off the beaten path from the main station.
